Gather over a long table on the beach for a wood-fired feast with Cloudy Bay, our New Zealand winery hosts.
We’re inviting you to the first of its kind at Watergate Bay to share great food and good company, accompanied by live music and the sound of the ocean.
Beach feasting
Whilst dining on the sand at the north end of Watergate Bay beach, you will start with an oyster masterclass from Katy Davidson ‘The Oyster Lady’ and a glass of Cloudy Bay Pelorus an elegant sparkling wine, that will then lead onto three-course supper by Ben Quinn from Canteen Cornwall.
Fire and ice oysters
Award-winning local Porthilly oysters over fire and on ice, paired with a glass of Cloudy Bay Pelorus sparkling wine. Oysters expertly shucked by Katy Davidson – aka The Oyster Lady, a pioneer in oyster culture who's been curating oyster experiences for 20 years.
Katy will serve oysters poached in their own shells and 'oyster liquor' on a barbecue with beautiful flavours including garlic butter and rosemary, or “a roast dinner in a half shell”.
Wood-fired menu
Start with smoked feta with hot honey, smacked cucumber, Szechuan and tahini on Canteen flatbreads.
As the sun begins to set feasting platters of smoked lamb butterflied, with salsa verde, will be delivered to the table straight from the barbecue. Smoked aubergine and pickled mushrooms, will be the vegetarian and vegan option. All accompanied by bowls of creamy borlotti beans with wood-roasted tomatoes and smoked garlic, and a fennel and tomato salad with pink onions and Mother’s Garden olive oil.

Watergate Bay Hotel Ltd of On the Beach, Watergate Bay, Cornwall, TR8 4AA is the event organiser.
The name of the event, venue, time, date and number of guests are detailed on your email confirmation/ ticket.
Tickets will be confirmed by email to the email address used during purchase. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours please contact our guest services team on events@watergatebay.co.uk
The confirmation email is your event ticket.
Please ensure you advise us immediately of any changes to your contact details.
Our events will be in touch prior to the event to check dietary requirements and provide any further details.
The ticket price includes VAT at the appropriate rate.
Cancellation and refunds
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded, resold, exchanged or returned.
In the event of cancellation by us, the ticket price will be refunded. Watergate Bay Hotel cannot be held liable for any cost you may incur for travel, accommodation, any other goods or service or any compensation.
If weather conditions prevent outside dining the event may be moved inside hotel premises.
Restrictions and security
We reserve the right to refuse admission and refunds will not be given to anyone refused entry.
Admittance
This event is for ages 18+ and everyone attending the event must have purchased a ticket. Unfortunately, this event isn’t suitable for dogs.
Accessibility
The event takes place at the north end of the beach and we will have hosts to meet you on the beach and accompany you to the site, we do have beach wheelchairs available for pre-booking. For more information please contact us before booking your tickets. There is a car park close to the beach. You will not need to pay if attending an event night, please give you registration to the host team on arrival.

Personal information collected from ticket holders will be used by us solely in connection with the event and will not be disclosed to any third party.
