Missed the playdough table with us, or just want to keep the fun going once you're home? This is Tammy's go-to recipe. It uses simple cupboard ingredients, takes about 15 minutes and keeps little hands busy for hours.
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of salt
1 tbsp of oil
1 tbsp cream of tartar
1 cup of flour
Colouring of your choice (see Tammy's tip below)
Step one
Pour the water into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Stir in your oil, colouring of your choice and cream of tartar.
Tammy's tip: we like to use natural colourings. A teaspoon of turmeric for yellow, or replace the water with red cabbage water for purple.
Step two
Add in the salt and the flour and give it a good stir until the mixture starts coming away from the sides of the pan
Step three
Tip the mixture out onto a board and kneed until smooth.
You can add lavender or petals for different scents an textures.
