Beach loft plans and artist impressions
Stay closer to the water than ever before with our brand new beach lofts. Each one is unique, but all have sliding floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, relaxed seating areas, and hosted hospitality with 'surf in, surf out' access for a ski chalet inspired experience on the beach.
Will Ashworth, CEO, shares his insight into the new beach lofts:
Located in the building where Jamie Oliver's Fifteen used to be, the beach lofts sit directly above the beach and bring sea views to a new level at Watergate Bay.
Opening in spring 2021, the new spacious lofts (the largest of which is 63m²) will combine an airy, modern feel of a city loft with warm textures, freestanding baths and hanging chairs beside glowing fires, all just a few steps from the sand down a private staircase.
The beach lofts will dial up the space, character and sea views at Watergate to a new level. You'll literally be able to lie in the bath with the windows open, listen to the waves and feel the sun and wind on your face - while still being inside.
Japanese bath or hanging chair?
Each loft will have a slightly different layout, interior and perspective on the beach. Some will have an additional bunk room for families; others will have split-level open plan bedroom and living space; some will have deep Japanese baths in the bathroom instead of freestanding baths in the window; others will have hanging chairs and most have fires. But all will have relaxed seating areas and sliding floor-to-ceiling windows directly above the sandy beach.
Private pantry
One of the more unique features we are introducing is a private pantry and personal host for beach loft guests who can choose to take breakfast in their room or take a hamper to the beach. The host will bake a selection of fresh cakes each afternoon.
Seven beach lofts
Designed by Cornwall-based Dynargh Design, the lofts will feel warm, natural and enticing even when the nights draw in and it's dark by 5pm in winter. With sustainability in mind, the design scheme will include a blend of reclaimed timber, upcycled or bespoke furniture, recycled bathroom tiles, and a carpet made from recycled plastic bottles.
Out of the seven lofts, each will have a distinctive look and feel, but there will be five doubles with space for an extra bed and a cot, and two family suites with a separate bunk room. Each loft will be dog friendly too.
