Please familiarise yourself with the following information:

Raising the fire alarm

  • If you discover a fire vacate the room ensuring the door is shut behind you

  • Immediately operate the nearest fire alarm call point

  • Fire alarm call points are situated on the landing of every floor at The Hangar and next to all fire exits

If you hear the fire alarm

  • Immediately vacate the building using the NEAREST available exit, proceed to the fire assembly point

  • Do not collect personal belongings

  • Do not return to the building

  • Do not use the lifts – these will automatically shut down in the event of a fire.

Fire assembly point

  • NEXT TO THE BIN STORE IN CAR PARK

  • Senior members of our team will confirm full evacuation

Fire exits

  • All fire exits display this sign.

Fire extinguishers

  • Foam and CO2 fire extinguishers are located on every floor at The Hangar and next to all fire exits

  • Only use if confident to do so.

Foam (cream label)

  • Fires involving flammable solids, such as paper, wood, and textiles (‘class A’ fires)

  • Fires involving some flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, and paint (‘class B’ fires)

  • DO NOT use on cooking fires involving oil and grease, such as chip pan fires (‘class F’ fires)

  • Fires involving flammable gases, like methane and butane (class C’ fires)

CO2 (black label)

  • Fire involving equipment such as computers, or generators (‘electrical’ fires)

  • Fires involving some flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, and paint (class B’ fires)

  • DO NOT use on cooking fires involving oil and grease, such as chip pan fires (‘class F’ fires)

Fire blanket

  • A fire blanket is situated in the pantry and is suitable for kitchen fires i.e. deep fat fryers or if a person’s clothing is on fire

  • Not suitable for large fires

First aid kit

  • A first aid kit is in the pantry on the ground floor and kitchenettes on each upper floor

  • The accident book is kept with the first aid kit.  If you have an accident please complete an accident book form and email it to us at space@hangar.work
